Introduction to Flora for all Fauna




Hi! I’m Flora, an activist for the freedom of animals, human and non-human. If you are anything like me, you may feel like the world is an overwhelming and scary place right now. As a result, it's natural to feel a sense of despair and powerlessness. However, through belief in our power as citizens with agency to come together as a community, a kinder world is possible.

I believe that society is capable of evolving to be a more compassionate place for all beings. My aim is to highlight the problems we as a collective currently face and provide manageable actions everyone can take to transform the power systems that propagate injustice.

The universe is on the side of justice.

In the words of George Monbiot:

“In motivating people to love and defend the natural world, an ounce of hope is worth a ton of despair.”

This rings true for all movements aiming to make the world a better place.

In the spirit of hope, here are some pictures of happy non-human animals that I visited at a sanctuary last year.



And some empowering moments from 2024, when people from all walks of society came together to stand up for the rights of others to live in peace, free from war and climate breakdown:

In my posts I will explore different areas and provide practical solutions for human and animal freedom. These will include posts on veganism, human rights, climate breakdown, investigative journalism, as well as more uplifting philosophical pieces such as finding peace through spirituality and the mysteries of the universe.

  Thinking of my first topic was a difficult one. Where to start? With everything that is going on, there is so much to say and do. It feels like there is not enough time to defend those that are persecuted and seek justice for everyone. However, one has to start somewhere. The Resurrection of Mediocrity

I’m ashamed to say it’s been a while since my last blog post. I had intended to complete one a month, which seemed doable in the high energy time that is January and new-year goal setting. Alas life has gotten in the way, and now it’s nearly May, and I have yet to see my ideas come to fruition. There have been many drafts, but nothing felt good enough. I had this niggling feeling that the piece had to be perfect, or I didn’t know enough about a particular subject to feel confident in what I was putting out into the world. However, perfection is unattainable and there is value in the mundane, maybe even a mediocre blog post. So, what have I been doing all this time, when I haven’t been diligently at my desk, fingers to keyboard. Well, working for one.
